Rain, rain, GO AWAY

Small glimmer of hope- the glow is the sunset
It looked a lot worse in person- what was headed our way

So far I'm pretty happy with how I've been keeping up with this. But then again, work starts up tomorrow so we'll see how the rest of the week goes. I was gonna go see Beauty and the Beast at the Muny with my friend Becca and her mom. We got there early cause we sat in the free seats. Let me just clarify, all day it was sunny and HOT HOT HOT. My car thermometer read 95 (though it felt like 105). When I got in the car w/ Becca she told me that there was a 90% chance of rain and at that point, it did not look like that at all. By the time we got to Forest Park, it definitely looked like a thunderstorm was coming and it didn't really pick up until we sat down in our seats. It was almost scary but we sat through the entire storm (Becca's mom packed umbrellas) At first it just seemed like the clouds were moving, but then a cold wind picked up and that's when the rain came. There was lightning this whole time too, before the rain as well. It was also really cool watching the storm pass. The clouds were moving so quickly and they looked really close to the ground. Some lighting bolts split off into 3 or 4 bolts and EVERYTIME there was lighting there would be a small scream from the crowd (THAT got annoying). The rain finally slowed down and at this point, it was supposed to be showtime but the stage was soaking wet. There was an announcement saying that the Muny was in contact with the National Weather Service and the rain was supposed to stop within a half hour. We sat, and began to see the sun setting which meant that the clouds were clearing. It was optimism for about 10 minutes. Then the rain began to fall again. We sat there for a another half hour then gave up. At this point, we wouldn't be home until 1 in the morning and we all have to get up early for work. So we left, and when I got home it was STILL raining. Did I mention how wet and cold I was? Right now I'm in sweat pants and fuzzy socks after practically bathing in my sweat earlier in the day. It wasn't a huge blow though. I've seen Beauty and the Beast, and the seats were free:)

PostSecret

In March, Frank Warren came to Maryville to speak and I was floored. If no one has heard of him, then maybe Postsecret will ring a bell? No? Well, it's this project he started by handing out some postcards to strangers and told them mail their secrets to him. It turned into this huge ordeal and now 3 books have been published of secrets and he runs a blog that he updates every Sunday with new secrets. It's amazing. After he spoke I bought one of his books right after and had him autograph it. It's nice to know that there are others out there who share the same secrets as you.

TGIF

What a Friday! Of course it wouldn't seem that way considering I'm doing this right now. As mentioned in my previous post Becca, Andrea and I went to Hurricane Harbor and just hung out there all day. I got stuck driving but, oh well. It was crazy crowded. We couldn't find any chairs to lay on or put our stuff on in the main area, but we did eventually find some. It was by the lazy river and kind of tucked away. It seemed very nice. We put our stuff down and went in the lazy river. This took a grand total of 5 minutes. We came back to our chairs and Becca noticed that her stuff had been messed with. Eventually she found out that her cell phone was stolen. I have been going to Hurricane Harbor for 5 years, I have always just kept my stuff by my chair and it has never been touched. The lifeguard who had a view of our stuff said she saw the KID come and take it, but she thought that he was Becca's brother. The little snot turned her phone off and we kept our eyes peeled for him. At this time Becca called AT&T and it was deactivated. Other than that dilemma it was wonderful. We went down some waterslides and laid out mostly. I even have a tan line which is HUGE for me. A little sunburnt, but I'll always have to deal with sunburn. Hmmm did I mention that the lifeguard that the kid who stole the phone was 8-10 yrs old? Seriously, what is the world coming to? He probably just did it to feel cool.

My First Blog

Hello all. I know that no one is going to read this. Oh well. I decided to start a blog because I think that it's a pretty cool way to stay updated with people. So what's going on with me? Hmmm. Well, I'm going to be starting my second year of the five year process of obtaining my Master's degree in Occupational Therapy. I work at Traffic Law Stop doing mainly reception work. I just got done with my volleyball game and we won. Woohoo. Actually it was pathetic. The score of our first game was 21-1 with RALLY SCORING. Tomorrow I'm going to Six Flags with my girls to lay out at the water park alllllll day. I'll be as red as a lobster haha .Well hopefully I'll be good at updating this:)
